Plans and usage
Hull's individual and organization plans, how AI and cloud usage is measured, and how to keep spending in check.
Hull is sold as a subscription. Paid plans include a monthly AI allowance and cloud runtime, and you can buy more usage when you need it. Prices below are in USD (INR in India) and exclude taxes. For current prices and plan details, see withhull.com/pricing.

Organization plans

How AI usage works
- Allowances. Paid individual plans include a monthly AI allowance. Teams has a pooled allowance shared across the organization.
- Allowances reset. Included allowances reset at the end of each billing period and don't roll over. Usage you buy separately follows the terms shown when you buy it.
- Usage isn't unlimited. When your allowance runs out, you can buy additional usage from your account at app.withhull.com. You can also turn on automatic top-up so work isn't interrupted.
- Models cost different amounts. Auto picks a model for each task based on what the task needs. You can also choose a specific model where your plan supports it; more capable models use your allowance faster.
- Personal and organization usage are separate. Usage is billed to the account you're working in. Switch accounts with the account selector in VS Code, User Profile in JetBrains, or
/teamsin the CLI.

Cloud compute
Cloud agents run on Hull's infrastructure. Paid plans include Small runtime hours each month. Beyond that, compute is pay as you go:

Using your own provider keys
Managed Hull Gateway is the default. You can also connect your own provider account or API key in Hull Desktop, the CLI or an IDE extension. Those requests go directly to the provider, are billed by the provider and don't use your Hull allowance. Organizations can arrange Enterprise BYOK through an organization agreement. Keep usage down
- Keep prompts focused. Mention only the files that matter with
@, and split large tasks into smaller ones. - Put recurring guidance in rules. Write conventions once in
AGENTS.mdor rules instead of repeating them. - Compact long sessions. Run
/compactto summarise the conversation and free up context. Hull also compacts automatically when the context window fills up. - Turn off MCP servers you don't use. Their tool definitions are sent with every request. See MCP.
- Watch spending. Starter and Pro include spending controls, and organizations can set budgets and per-user limits. See Cost controls.
