Sign in to Hull from Desktop, the CLI, VS Code or JetBrains, or connect your own model provider.
Signing in with a Hull account gives you managed model access through the Hull Gateway, including Auto routing, plus cloud agents and usage tracking. Every surface signs in through your browser, and you don't need to paste a password into your editor or terminal.
If you don't have an account yet, the sign-in page lets you create one. New accounts start on the Free plan. See Plans and usage.
Sign in with your Hull account
- Open Hull Desktop. The welcome screen appears on first launch.
- Choose Continue. Hull opens your browser.
- Sign in or create an account, then approve the sign-in.
- Return to the app. It connects automatically.
If the browser doesn't open, choose Open sign-in page. If the request times out, choose Try again. See Sign in and set up.
Use your own model provider
You can use Hull without a Hull account by connecting your own provider account or API key. Requests then go straight to that provider and are billed by it. Hull supports Anthropic, OpenAI (including a ChatGPT Plus or Pro sign-in), OpenRouter, Google, AWS Bedrock, local models through Ollama and more. See AI providers and Bring your own key.
On the welcome screen, choose Bring your own keys. Later, add or change providers in Settings › Model connections.
Keep API keys out of config files you commit. Use environment variables, or let Hull store the key for you through the settings screens above.
Hull Gateway API key
To call the Hull Gateway from your own code, for example with the OpenAI SDK or the Vercel AI SDK, you need an API key:
- Sign in at app.withhull.com.
- Open your profile on your personal account (not an organization).
- Copy the key from the API Key section.
See Gateway authentication for how to use it.
