Sign in and set up

Create your account or bring your own keys, choose a theme and add your first project.

The first time you open Hull Code, a short setup runs.

1. Sign in, or bring your own keys

The welcome screen offers two paths.

Choose Continue. Hull opens your browser so you can sign in or create an account. When you approve the sign-in, return to the app; it connects automatically.

If the browser didn't open, choose Open sign-in page. If it times out, choose Try again.

A Hull account gives you managed access to models through the Hull Gateway, credits and cloud features.

2. Choose your appearance

Pick a theme, or keep it matching your system, then choose Get started. You can change this later in Settings › Appearance.

3. Add a project

Hull works inside your repositories. In the sidebar, choose Add project (⌘ ⇧ O) and pick a folder, or create a project from a GitHub repository.

Chats that aren't in a project use ~/Documents/Hull as their workspace.

4. Connect GitHub (optional)

Pull requests, the Review inbox and auto-fix for CI use the GitHub CLI. If it isn't signed in, Hull asks you to run:

gh auth login
