Extend Hull Desktop
Add tools, knowledge and instructions with MCP servers, skills, rules, agents and workflows.
MCP servers
MCP servers give the agent new tools, such as access to a database, a ticket tracker or internal docs. Go to Settings › MCP tools › Add server.
| Field | |
|---|---|
| Transport | Local command (Hull starts the server) or Remote URL. |
| Command, Arguments, Environment variables | For a local server. |
| Server URL, Request headers | For a remote server. |
| OAuth | Automatic, Disabled or Client credentials. |
| Request timeout, Enabled | Limits and on/off. |
See MCP.
Skills
Skills package know-how the agent can use when a task calls for it. Add a local folder or a remote source in Settings › Skills, and turn each skill on or off. Use one in the composer with $. See Skills.
Rules and AGENTS.md
Instructions tell the agent how your project works: conventions, commands, things to avoid. In Settings › Rules, choose Add instruction file and point to an AGENTS.md or to files in .hull/rules/. See AGENTS.md and Rules.
Agents
Settings › Agents sets the Agent used for new chats (Code by default) and lets you configure each agent. See Agents and Custom subagents.
Workflows
Workflows are reusable slash commands for tasks you repeat. Create them in Settings › Workflows. See Workflows.
Plugins
Browse and install plugins in Settings › Plugins. See Plugins.
Connected clients
Connected clients let other MCP-capable tools create and follow Hull tasks. Set them up in Settings › Connected clients with the pairing prompt shown there.
