Plans and billing
Common questions about Hull subscriptions, allowances, usage and invoices.
Does my plan include AI usage?
Yes. Paid individual plans include a monthly AI allowance, and Teams includes a pooled allowance for the organization. When an allowance is used up, you can buy additional usage. See Plans and usage.
Is AI usage unlimited?
No. Hull uses defined allowances and usage-based billing so spending stays visible and under control.
Does unused allowance roll over?
No. Included allowances reset at the end of each billing period. Usage you buy separately follows the terms shown when you buy it.
Why does Hull show a low balance when I have usage left?
Personal and organization accounts are billed separately. If your allowance is on one account and you're working in the other, Hull may warn about a low balance. Switch to the right account with the account selector in VS Code, User Profile in JetBrains, or /teams in the CLI.
Why do I see autocomplete requests I didn't make?
In the IDE extensions, inline autocomplete sends requests as you type, using a fast completion model such as Codestral through the Hull Gateway. These requests count towards your usage. To stop them, open Settings › Autocomplete and choose a different model or turn automatic inline completions off. See Autocomplete.
Can I use my own API keys?
Yes. Connect your own provider in Hull Desktop, the CLI or an IDE extension, and those requests are billed by your provider. Organizations can arrange Enterprise BYOK through an agreement. See Bring your own key.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Individual monthly subscriptions can be cancelled before the next renewal, subject to the subscription terms. Organization and institutional contracts follow their agreed billing terms.
