Integrations

Integrations

Connect Git providers and team tools so Hull can work in your repositories and where your team talks.

Integrations connect Hull to your repositories and to the tools your team already uses. Connect a Git provider first: cloud agents, code review, auto fix and Deploy all need repository access. Then bring Hull into Slack, Linear and GitHub conversations.

Manage integrations on the Integrations page for your personal account, or under Integrations in your organization's sidebar.

Slack and LinearSlack or Linear, plus GitHub or GitLab for code changes

GitHub

Hull connects to GitHub through the HullConnect GitHub App.

Open Integrations and select GitHub.

Click Install the Hull GitHub App. GitHub opens the HullConnect installation page.

Choose the account or organization, then All repositories or Only select repositories. Choose all repositories if you plan to use cloud agents or Deploy across many projects.

Approve the installation. You return to Hull, and GitHub shows as connected.

Installing on your personal account gives Hull your personal repositories. Repositories in a GitHub organization may already be available through an organization installation. To install the app on a GitHub organization you need to be an owner there, or have an owner approve the request.

To change which repositories Hull can access, use Manage on GitHub on the GitHub integration page, or Settings > Applications > Installed GitHub Apps > HullConnect in GitHub. Use Refresh Permissions in Hull after you change them.

GitLab

Connect with OAuth or a Personal Access Token.

  1. Open Integrations and select GitLab.
  2. Choose OAuth and click Connect GitLab.
  3. Authorize Hull on GitLab. You return to Hull with GitLab connected.

OAuth tokens refresh automatically.

Code review on GitLab needs the Maintainer role on each project. See GitLab code review.

Self-hosted GitLab

Self-hosted GitLab is available on the Enterprise plan. Enter your instance URL on the GitLab integration page. For OAuth, first create an application in your instance (Admin Area > Applications or User Settings > Applications):

  • Redirect URI: https://app.withhull.com/api/integrations/gitlab/callback
  • Scopes: api, read_user, read_repository, write_repository
  • Confidential: yes

Then enter its Client ID and Client Secret in Hull and connect. Your instance must be reachable from the internet over HTTPS.

Disconnect GitLab

Click Disconnect on the GitLab integration page. Hull clears your tokens but keeps webhook settings, so reconnecting restores your setup. Revoke the OAuth grant on GitLab's side in User Settings > Applications > Authorized applications.

Bitbucket Cloud

Organizations can connect a Bitbucket Cloud workspace from Integrations > Bitbucket in the organization's sidebar. Use a Workspace Access Token (preferred) or OAuth when tokens aren't available. The token needs repository read and write, pull request read, webhooks read and write, and account read. The connection is shared with everyone in the organization and lets cloud agents clone and work in the workspace's repositories.

Slack, Linear and GitHub mentions

Once a Git provider is connected, you can start Hull work from your team's tools. Each mention runs the same agent: it reads the conversation, answers, or starts a cloud agent that opens a pull request.

These use your AI allowance, and code changes run as cloud agents on paid plans. See withhull.com/pricing.

DoltHub

The DoltHub integration connects your DoltHub account with OAuth, so Hull can query Dolt-versioned databases. Hull Commons uses it by default.

  1. Open Integrations and select DoltHub.
  2. Click Connect DoltHub and approve Hull on DoltHub.
  3. Return to Hull and check that DoltHub shows as connected.

To remove it, click Disconnect on the DoltHub integration page.

Troubleshooting

My repositories don't appear. Check that HullConnect is installed on the right GitHub account or organization and has access to those repositories. For GitLab, click refresh to sync projects and check you're a member of them.

My organization blocks third-party apps. Ask a GitHub organization owner to approve the HullConnect installation.

Cloud agents or Deploy can't access a repository. Update the repository access for HullConnect in GitHub, then use Refresh Permissions in Hull.

GitLab says permission denied. Webhooks and the review bot token need the Maintainer role on the project.
