ChatGPT Plus/Pro
Use your ChatGPT subscription for OpenAI Codex models in Hull, with OAuth sign-in and no API key.
If you pay for ChatGPT Plus or Pro, you can sign in with that subscription and use OpenAI's Codex models in Hull. Usage counts against your ChatGPT plan, not a pay-as-you-go API account.
Subscription access works in Hull Desktop, the VS Code extension and the Hull CLI on your machine. Cloud agents run on Hull Gateway and don't use your ChatGPT subscription.
Sign in
Open Settings, go to Providers, add OpenAI and choose the ChatGPT sign-in option. Complete sign-in in your browser.
Notes
- Plans: you need a ChatGPT plan that includes Codex (Plus, Pro, Business, Edu or Enterprise). Free ChatGPT accounts aren't supported. See OpenAI's Codex pricing.
- Models: only the models in Hull's Codex catalog are available this way, not every OpenAI API model.
- Sign-in errors: the browser sign-in listens on port 1455. If you see a CSRF or similar error, make sure nothing else is using that port (
lsof -i :1455on macOS and Linux). - Sign out: choose Disconnect in provider settings, or run
hull auth logoutand choose OpenAI. - Settings export: OAuth tokens are stored in your editor's secret storage and aren't included when you export settings.
