Enhance prompt
Rewrite a rough draft into a clearer, more specific request before you send it.
Enhance prompt rewrites the draft in your chat input into a clearer, more specific request. It doesn't answer or act on your draft: it only improves the wording, and you decide whether to send it.
It's available in the VS Code extension.
Use it
- Type your request in the chat input as you normally would.
- Click the Enhance prompt button (the wand icon) in the input toolbar.
- Hull replaces your draft with the enhanced version. Edit it if needed.
- Press
Enterto send.
Don't like the result? Press Cmd+Z (macOS) or Ctrl+Z (Windows and Linux) to get your original draft back.
How it works
Hull sends your draft to your default provider's small, fast model, or to your default model if the provider has no small model. The model is instructed to return only an improved version of the prompt. No tools run and nothing in your project changes.
Tips
- Always review the result. The rewrite can add assumptions you didn't intend.
- Run it again to refine further.
- It's not a substitute for detail. Mention the files, constraints and outcome you care about. See Chat for what makes a good request.
