Voice input
Dictate prompts instead of typing them, transcribed through your Hull account.
Speak your request and Hull turns it into text in the prompt field. Transcription runs through Hull Gateway on your Hull account, so you don't need a separate speech-to-text key.
Requirements
- You're signed in to Hull, and the Hull provider is enabled.
- An internet connection.
Set it up
Voice input is set up under Settings › Model connections, where you can choose the Speech-to-text model. When it's available, use the microphone button in the composer to record a voice note. Hull transcribes it into the composer.
Troubleshooting
- No microphone button. Check that you're signed in to Hull, the Hull provider is enabled, and a speech-to-text model is selected.
- "Microphone permission was denied". Allow microphone access for VS Code or Hull Desktop in your operating system's privacy settings.
- "No speech was detected". Check your input device and speak a little closer to the microphone.
- Recording fails on Windows or Linux. Make sure
ffmpegruns from a terminal.
