Rate responses
Give a response a thumbs up or thumbs down, what that sends, and how to turn it off.
You can rate any of Hull's responses with a thumbs up or thumbs down. Ratings help the Hull team tune prompts and default models and find problems.
Rating is part of telemetry, so it's only available while telemetry is on.
Rate a response
When a response finishes, thumbs-up and thumbs-down buttons appear next to the copy button. Click one to rate. Click it again to clear your rating, or click the other to change it.
Ratings shown in the chat reset when you reload the window or switch sessions.
What's sent
- Your rating (up or down).
- The provider and model that produced the response, for example
anthropicandclaude-sonnet-4-5. - For responses through Hull Gateway, the session and message IDs, so the rating can be matched to that request.
The content of your conversation isn't included.
Turn it off
Turning off telemetry removes the rating buttons and disables the keybinds.
Open VS Code settings, search for telemetry.telemetryLevel, and set it to off. Hull follows VS Code's telemetry setting.
